Southeast Asia Farmed Animal Welfare Fellowship (SEAFAWF)

Applications for the next Southeast Asia Farmed Animal Welfare Fellowship (SEAFAWF) are now open. Join this programme to learn more about the issues, explore the most effective ways to reduce farmed animal suffering, and expand your network in Southeast Asia.

Our approach

Welfare Matters is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of advocates building the farmed animal protection movement in Southeast Asia. Our focus is on supporting individuals who are interested in shaping a more humane and sustainable food system with their careers. Through specialised programmes, we offer the knowledge, network and support that can help you make an impact in this region.

Make a difference with your career

Southeast Asia stands among the top 5 subregions globally with the highest number of farmed animals. You can have the opportunity to use your career to shape the industrial animal agriculture landscape — by addressing the important but neglected issues and creating a more sustainable and compassionate food system.

Local relevance and contexts

We care about solutions that are culturally sensitive and locally relevant — to strive for a more humane and sustainable food system in Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam and Singapore. We achieve this by engaging with individuals who are already based in the region and are committed to advancing farmed animal welfare, fostering a shift away from animal product consumption, and championing the development of alternative protein — growing a community of effective animal advocates.
